About the Library

Lyrical Bansuri was recorded with a single microphone in a studio. This gives a warm and intimate sound as if you are in the room with the musician.

As with most Libre Wave libraries the samples have very little natural reverb, allowing you to apply your own effects and control the sonic environment into which the instrument is virtually placed.

Lyrical Bansuri includes a special “performance” articulation that interprets your playing to generate realistic legato transitions, trills, attacks, ornaments, and glides in real time.

The sustain samples have been looped and phase aligned to produce buttery smooth, artifact free dynamic crossfades.

In addition to 3x recorded RR for the staccato articulation the instrument includes Libre Wave’s infinite variation engine.

This works in the background, providing added realism using a combination of techniques to create subtle continuous variations for every note played.

Got this flute plugin at a steep discount and it definitely did not disappoint! It sounds lovely out of the box (and even better with a little reverb sprinkled on top) and offers several useful articulations to add realism and creative detail to compositions. Its articulations just “felt right” to me, they accomplish exactly what I imagined in some experiments I used this bansuri in.

Great samples. However Rhapsody doesn’t connect with my focusrite to be able to use the standalone

    Very unique sound!

Sometimes while composing, a sound will pop into your mind, A sound you can’t quite put your finger on, but there it is and you have to have it! The lyrical Bansuri just might be that sound that you hear, it would be difficult to create it without this plugin. I’m sure I will be using it alot!

Feels like stealing. Amazing plug-in, its gonna be the main voice of my current score. Love your work David!

I have a soft spot for all types of flutes and David’s Bansuri has become an instant favorite among the dozens of flute libraries and VSTi’s I’ve collected over the years due to its beautiful and versatile sound and exceptional playability.
For some reason the first tune I’ve tried it on was a fusion piece and to my ears it not only fits in beautifully but I can’t stop playing that thing, the vibes are that inspiring.
If I had one free wish for an eventual update, I’d love some extra overblown samples even though that’s not exactly how most folks would play a traditional or lyrical Bansuri.
Apart from that this is one heck of a virtual flute that sounds and performs way better than the humble entrance fee suggests.

For that generous price range really a steal, you can’t go wrong! an expressive bansuri, you can tweak it as you like. the “performance” patch does already a lot letting your play sound vivid. and with the keyswitches, you can place the articulations you need at the right spot.
