Articulations

All articulations where recorded chromatically to provide a true representation of each note.

The sustains were recorded with 4 dynamic layers, most other articulations were recorded at three. A scripted repetition engine is included that helps keep repeated notes varied and natural.

Sustain

This is the default articulation. The standard plucked sound of the harp.

Bisbigliando

A softer, whispering tone. Playing slowly you’ll hear the normal sustain sound but as you speed up, for trills, tremolos, or arpeggios, the sound will become more blurred and shimmery.

Picked

Plucked sustained notes with a more distinct attack created by the musician using their fingernail to pick the string.

Près de la Table

A dryer tone, often compared to a guitar. Created by playing closer to the instrument’s soundboard. For notation, the acronym p.d.l.t. is written above or below the staff.

Harmonics

A delicate, bell-like tone by lightly touching the string at a nodal point while plucking it, creating a clear, ethereal sound. Limited to the higher range of the instrument.

Staccato

A short, detached note played with clear separation from the following note. Created by the musician damping the string after plucking.
